Paris Reidhead, pastor, missionary, and evangelist was not your run of the mill preacher. While he delivered one of the most important sermons of the 20th century, Ten Shekels and a Shirt, his legacy was far greater. To grasp his significance within the Kingdom of God, one must first look to his birth.
On May 30,1919, he was declared dead at birth, with a broken neck and no breath. However, his mother, Ruby Perkins Reidhead, proclaimed this could not be - for the Lord had given her a revelation that this son, born this day, would be a "spokesman unto Him." The doctor then returned to the baby and found his head had straightened, his color had returned, and his breathing was regular.
This was Paris Reidhead’s birth. A life that would eventually fulfill the prophetic promise made to his mother. A son, ordained not by human hands, but by divine decree to proclaim the glory of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and the Lord God our Father. Amen.

The systematic theology of Brother Reidhead, his sermons and teaching, was purposeful. His focus was to help Christians build the Foundations of a God-centered Life. To build a new house, where an existing one stands, the old must be torn down. Reidhead taught a total teardown of the self-centered life was necessary to build something that will stand when the storms come—all to the glory of Jesus Christ.

Ten Shekels and a Shirt
It has been said that Ten Shekels and a Shirt is one of the most widely heard messages ever preached. With millions of downloads it is possibly the most important sermon in the 20th century. It is a critique of modern Christianity and the wickedness that exists in the hearts of those who practice religion yet do not know the Lord. Brother Reidhead challenges the listener to consider whether they view God as an end or a means to an end and emphasizes the importance of recognizing the enormity of our sins against God. He then sums it all by proclaiming the only reason for being, for the true believer, is to live so the Lamb that was slain receives the reward of his suffering. Amen.
